Leon Jackson 18 from Whitburn, West Lothian, Scotland, is a retail sales assistant.
He auditioned in Glasgow and only started singing properly in January 2007 after
his mother bought him an iPod and he began recording his voice. Apart from
his hobby of karate, in which he is a black belt, Jackson says that singing is
the only thing that makes him happy. Before he made it through to the finals,
Jackson had been planning to start an Architectural Technology course at Napier

Leon Jackson grew up with his mum in West Lothian. Leon's mum has struggled financially
and he was desperate to win X Factor to give them a better life. He only started singing properly in January after his mum bought him an iPod, so he could record his voice. After playing some voice recordings to his friends, they were so impressed they have been regularly making him do karaoke. Leon's favourite music is jazz and his influences are Michael Buble and Jamie Cullum. Apart from karate, Leon says that singing is the only thing that makes him happy. If he wasn't on X Factor, Leon would be starting university to do an architectural technology course.
